Provided by Dr
Jean Smith, acupuncture is available
during normal surgery hours. There
is no fee for this service although
some patients like to donate a small
amount to cover the cost of needles
(which we donate to the Amenity
Fund).
Weekly chiropody
clinics take place at the surgery.
A physiotherapist
works two sessions a week in the
surgery. Patients can also be seen
at home if necessary.
Our family
psychotherapist works in the surgery
and she sees patients and families
with a variety of problems. A GP
referral is necessary for this
service.
Do you care for a
relative, friend or neighbour who
relies on your for help and support?
Carers Support Workers are based in
doctor’s surgeries across Somerset.
They are paid for by health and
social care services. Your Carers
Support Worker will give you time to
talk about being a carer and can
help you work out any needs you
might have such as money and legal
matters, meeting other carers,
taking a break, practical help,
planning for the future etc.
A fully trained
dietician sees patients at the
surgery once every month – she
provides one-to-one clinics as well
as a successful support group.
Referrals to the dietician must be
made by a GP.
Sessions are held
weekly for patients who have been
referred by their
GP/Nurse/Midwife/Health Visitor.
Focusing on healthy lifestyle and
exercise, this service aims to help
people with weight loss.
CAB hold weekly
sessions here at the surgery. You
can call in for help and advice from
experienced CAB workers or if
preferred, leave your name and
number at reception – they will ring
you the next time they are in the
surgery and if necessary organise a
home visit.
