The Mendip Country
Practice is affiliated to several
medical schools and each year helps
to educate one or two future
doctors. We also provide special
training for fully qualified
hospital doctors, who wish to
specialise in General Practice. A
Registrar may train with us for
either 6 months or one year.
We are a member of the MRC (Medical
Research Council) General Practice
Framework – this means we
occasionally carry out research with
the help of our patients. Obviously
permission is granted by the patient
first and we may pass anonymised
information from your medical
records to the co-ordinating centre,
but if a participant did not wish
this to happen, this will be
respected.
If we do ask for your help with MRC
work, you are free to refuse without
your medical care being affected.
