Named Accountable GP

Part of the NHS Initiative for 2024/2025 is to ensure that all patients have a named GP who is responsible for their overall care.

At Mendip Country Practice this system has been in place for many years. All patients when registering with us are given a named GP; if you are uncertain of who your named (sometimes called registered or usual) GP is, please ask at your next appointment or contact the surgery reception.

Having a named GP does not prevent you from seeing any GP working at the practice, either for a single appointment or for long term care. Although, whenever possible, we try to encourage patients to see the same GP.

If you express a preference as to which GP you wish to be assigned, we will make all reasonable efforts to accommodate this request.
